Affiliate & Commercial Disclosure

Affiliate policy

projekt36 guides are written from direct build experience. They are not sponsored, commissioned by parts suppliers, or written to promote specific products.

Where parts or suppliers are mentioned in guides, they reflect what was actually used on the build. If any guide contains an affiliate link — a link that earns a commission if you purchase — it will be marked with [affiliate link] inline and disclosed at the top of that article.

At the time of writing, no affiliate links are active on this site. If this changes, the policy and disclosures will be updated accordingly.

The shop sells projekt36-branded items fulfilled through Printify. This is the site's own merchandise — there is no affiliate relationship with Printify as a referral scheme.

Workshop & DIY Safety Disclaimer

General notice

All guides, articles, build logs, and technical content published on projekt36.com describe work performed on a specific vehicle by an experienced builder. This content is shared for informational and reference purposes only. Automotive repair and modification involves serious risk of injury, death, fire, and property damage. Proceed only if you have the appropriate skills, tools, and understanding of the risks involved. When in doubt, consult a qualified mechanic.

projekt36.com accepts no liability for injuries, damage to property, or any other harm arising from the use of, or reliance upon, any information published on this site.

Electrical systems

Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before working on any electrical component. Failure to do so risks short circuits, arc burns, fire, and damage to the vehicle's ECU and other electronics. Allow capacitors in audio and airbag systems to discharge fully before working in those areas. Never work on airbag systems without specialist training — accidental deployment can be fatal.

Welding & cutting

Welding produces UV radiation, intense heat, fumes, and spatter capable of causing fires. Before welding:

  • Wear a properly rated auto-darkening helmet, welding gloves, and flame-resistant clothing.
  • Remove or shield all fuel lines, brake lines, and rubber components within the heat zone.
  • Disconnect the battery and any electronic control units near the work area.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation — welding fumes are toxic.
  • Keep a fire extinguisher within reach and check the work area for smouldering material after finishing.
  • Never weld near fuel tanks, fuel lines, or flammable fluids.

Lifting & working under a vehicle

Never work under a vehicle supported only by a hydraulic floor jack. Jacks can fail without warning. Always use rated axle stands placed on solid jacking points. Chock the wheels that remain on the ground. On soft surfaces, use spreader boards under jack stands to prevent sinking. Verify the vehicle is stable before placing any part of your body beneath it.

Brakes, suspension & steering

These are safety-critical systems. Incorrect assembly, under-torqued fasteners, or air in the brake system can cause loss of vehicle control and fatal accidents. Torque all suspension and brake fasteners to specification with a calibrated torque wrench. After any brake work, pump the brake pedal to a firm feel before moving the vehicle, and perform a low-speed test before road use. If you are not confident in the result, have the work inspected by a qualified mechanic before driving.

Hazardous fluids

  • Coolant: engine coolant is toxic to animals and children. Never open the coolant system when the engine is hot — pressurised scalding liquid will escape.
  • Brake fluid: highly corrosive to painted surfaces. It is also hygroscopic — absorbs moisture — and must be replaced at intervals. Dispose of properly.
  • Fuel: work in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources. Have a fire extinguisher to hand. Do not run the engine when fuel lines are open.
  • Engine oil & transmission fluid: used oil is a carcinogen. Wear nitrile gloves and dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Engine running & road testing

Never run an engine in an enclosed space without forced extraction — carbon monoxide is odourless and lethal. After modification, road-test responsibly in a safe environment and at low speeds before returning to normal use. Ensure the vehicle meets all roadworthiness and legal requirements in your jurisdiction before using it on public roads.
